Weight gain. Low energy. Brain fog. Inflammation. Bread became something people felt weird about eating. Pasta turned into a \u201ccheat.\u201d Foods that had been normal for a long time suddenly came with guilt attached.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"579\">But honestly, carbs <strong>aren\u2019t<\/strong> the problem. The way we talk about them is.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"895\">Carbs are one of the main ways your body gets energy. Your brain runs on glucose. Your muscles use carbs to get through workouts, long days, and just\u2026 life. Cutting them out completely doesn\u2019t magically make someone healthier. Most of the time, it just makes people tired, cranky, and more likely to overeat later.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"1001\">A lot of the confusion comes from lumping all carbs into one category, when they\u2019re really not the same.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1402\">Highly processed carbs\u2014think sugary snacks, refined breads, ultra-processed foods\u2014are easy to eat a lot of and don\u2019t do much for you nutritionally. When people say \u201ccarbs made me gain weight,\u201d this is usually what they\u2019re talking about. Whole-food carbs like fruits, vegetables, beans, oats, rice, and potatoes are different. They come with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and energy that actually lasts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1695\">Fiber is a big piece that gets ignored. It helps slow digestion, keeps blood sugar more stable, supports gut health, and helps you feel full. A lot of people who are constantly hungry or crashing in the afternoon aren\u2019t eating too many carbs\u2014they\u2019re not eating enough of the fiber-rich ones.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1977\">Another thing that matters: restriction usually backfires. When carbs are labeled as \u201cbad\u201d or off-limits, they become more tempting. That cycle of cutting them out, craving them, and then overeating later causes way more issues than just eating a balanced meal in the first place.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1979\" data-end=\"2052\">Instead of asking, \u201cShould I cut carbs?\u201d it might be more helpful to ask:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2190\">\n<li data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2081\">\n<p data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2081\">Am I getting enough fiber?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2124\">\n<p data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2124\">Am I pairing carbs with protein and fat?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2125\" data-end=\"2190\">\n<p data-start=\"2127\" data-end=\"2190\">Am I eating in a way that actually supports my day-to-day life?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2192\" data-end=\"2385\">Carbs don\u2019t need to be feared. They\u2019re just a tool.
