Either can happen, and it\u2019s often quite scary to think that you might not always see changes for the better.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it\u2019s a fact of life that these less positive, more challenging health events can and will occur. The older we get, the more likely we are to see the latter as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And that\u2019s why focusing on your long-term health today is good for you. You just need to ensure you\u2019re looking at both sides and accounting for changes in either column.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, let\u2019s take a bit of the anxiety out of approaching long-term health changes and make them more accessible. A lot is going on at all hours, and finding any significant free time to keep up with all facets of life is more complicated than ever.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As such, you can go weeks without having a proper conversation with your best friend or calling your mother for more than a couple of minutes at a time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re all doing our best to stay in touch with one another, but maybe it\u2019s time for a rethink? Indeed, instead of stealing moments with loved ones as and when they crop up, why not save it all for a proper weekly check-in?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move your schedule around a little to allow at least an hour per week for a proper 10+ minute chat with your nearest and dearest. Sharing some quality time with those you care for is good for everyone, and it can reduce the crushing power stress and anxiety have over you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Wake Up at the Same Time, Even if it\u2019s a Weekend<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lying in on weekends is a bit of a treat, but it\u2019s not something you\u2019ll want to make a habit of. If you do, you could throw off your sleep cycle and make it harder to return to normal on Monday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waking up at the same time means it\u2019s more likely you\u2019ll go to bed at the same time. Your energy level will have dips to it at the same time each day, so you\u2019re more likely to fall asleep when you get into bed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result, you\u2019ll get consistent sleep, usually around 7 to 8 hours, too. And when you get enough sleep night after night, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleepfoundation.org\/how-sleep-works\/benefits-of-sleep\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so many areas of your health will thank you<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Understand the Health Insurance Market<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you have health insurance? It\u2019s more common than you might think for people to go without it. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/share-of-uninsured-americans-climbs-cdc-survey\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2024, around 8% of Americans weren\u2019t covered by health insurance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and this number may get bigger within the next year with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tuseguromedico.com\/cambios-en-el-obamacare-para-2026\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">changes to Obamacare for 2026<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means it\u2019s more important than ever to know how health insurance works and to try to get coverage that\u2019s suitable for you. With health insurance in place, you\u2019ll have access to care no matter the cost, and you\u2019re far less likely to go without life-saving medication if needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if you\u2019ve never really dipped your toes into the health insurance market before now, you may want to research it to get acquainted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you can, try downloading a guide to health insurance jargon and using that to decode the policy terms you encounter. You\u2019re working with a mental health professional to help you unpack and understand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They can also help you highlight things you might need to work on for better health and happiness, which will improve your long-term health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Focusing on Long-Term Health Can Be Accessible<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your long-term health could have anything in store. The more you look after yourself now, the fewer challenges you\u2019re likely to expect. But even then, you can never be sure. And that\u2019s something to work with, rather than against.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s why we can prepare for the years ahead when we\u2019ve got more than enough time to think about how things might change.
