After all, if you have nailed your fitness routine, you begin to feel as comfortable in the middle of a workout as you do on your own sofa &#8211; well, mentally, at least!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For others, the gym will always be a place of intimidation. This is especially true if you are in the early days of weight loss, when you can feel like your body stands out for all of the wrong reasons. It\u2019s easy to imagine that everyone is looking at you, wondering what you\u2019re doing there. You can\u2019t possibly belong! You\u2019re not muscular and\u00a0\u00a0you don\u2019t know what half the machines do\u2026 it\u2019s a real <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0377092\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mean Girls<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-esque moment, where you feel everyone is muttering that you\u00a0simply don&#8217;t belong. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, this is all a psychological trick, because no one is actually thinking ANY of that. Here\u2019s why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Everyone Is Focusing On Themselves<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all have a tendency to think to think we are the center of the universe, even if we don\u2019t mean to. After all, we\u2019re the center of our own universe, so it makes sense that we matter to ourselves. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thing is\u2026 everyone else is the center of their own universe, too. Most people at the gym are far busier dealing with their own workout, managing their own lives, than to glance over at you and think derisory comments. They\u2019re just as likely to\u00a0imagine that you are thinking intensely about them and their insecurities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So if it feels like all eyes are on you, then it\u2019s just a feeling.<\/p>\n<p><b>You Have A Right To Be There<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t feel confident setting foot in a gym as you\u2019re not yet a buff, physical specimen, then try and remember that\u2019s what you\u2019re going there to do. Everyone has to begin somewhere; even the perfect bodies you now see around you, they all had a starting point that they have improved on. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, even if these people would judge you in the street, they\u2019re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">less<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> likely to do so in the gym &#8211; because they have direct evidence that you\u2019re trying to do something about it. If you have gained weight, then your confidence can take a real knock, but don\u2019t let this be a barrier to the weight loss you want. Anyone who is willing to pay, to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubfitness.us\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">head to Club Fitness<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a workout or break a sweat doing endless abdominal<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MKmrqcoCZ-M\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0crunches<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, has as much right to be there as anyone else.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Even If They Do Think Something Unpleasant, It\u2019s Just A Thought<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The simple reality is that even if the first two points aren\u2019t enough to make you feel more comfortable, it still doesn\u2019t really matter. You can\u2019t control the way other\u00a0people think of you, nor can you tell them what to think. People are going to have their own ideas about you. These ideas might be wrong, but so long as they stay in the realm of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ideas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, then they shouldn\u2019t concern you. This isn\u2019t even a case of letting people think what they want, because you don\u2019t have any say in it at all. So why should you let something over which you have no control drain your <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/willpower-maintain-motivation-fitness\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">motivation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and exert an influence on you?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The moral of the story is that most of your insecurities are just that.
