I prep my meals in advance on Sunday for the workweek. On the weekends, I still try to eat as clean as possible, but I will treat myself to one thing I don\u2019t allow during the week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite Workout:<\/strong> Hooked Fitness. It\u2019s a mixture of strength training, cardio (bleacher and track work) and boxing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Least favorite way to workout?<\/strong> Long-distance cardio; I hate running!<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does fitness affect you as a professional?<\/strong> Fitness definitely affects my mood and my energy. I feel extremely lethargic when I don\u2019t workout and it also puts me in a bad mood. This is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-48324\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4-225x400.jpg\" alt=\"image (4)\" width=\"225\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4-225x400.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4-576x1024.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4-300x533.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4-338x600.jpg 338w, https:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image-4.jpg 918w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>definitely not a good combo when dealing with clients all day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Would you be as good at what you do if you didn\u2019t pursue fitness?<\/strong> I don\u2019t think I would have the relationships I do with some of my clients if it weren\u2019t for fitness. It makes me an overall happier person. I take stressful situations a lot more lightly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you squeeze fitness in on a crazy busy day?\u00a0<\/strong>Once I get to the office, I tend\u00a0to not move from my desk, unless it\u2019s to get my pre-packed meals from the fridge. I\u00a0put my headphones on and my music extra loud so I don\u2019t hear anyone. I have lunch\u00a0at my desk and only answer calls when it\u2019s absolutely necessary. I make the most of\u00a0my day because when the clock hits 5:30, my boss already knows I\u2019m running out to\u00a0make it on time to the gym.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you fight the urge to skip workouts?<\/strong> Whenever I want to be a little lazy,\u00a0especially on the weekends, I have a little voice in my head telling me to sleep in; that I deserve it. Then I remember it\u2019s only an hour to an hour and a half of my day,\u00a0and I can nap when I get home. Seeing a \u201cbefore\u201d picture usually does the trick.\u00a0Dreams don\u2019t work unless you do!<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you travel, what kind of workouts do you do on the road?<\/strong> I usually have my trainer\u00a0write up a few workouts that I can do in a hotel gym. Something along the lines of\u00a0running on the treadmill and lifting some weights and some body weight exercises&#8211;anything to break a sweat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What other obstacles do you face (health-wise) as part of your work?<\/strong> <strong>Have you\u00a0found a way to overcome them?<\/strong> I face obstacles daily, considering I sit at a desk eight hours a day. There also always seems to be an occasion to celebrate with really bad\u00a0food. I fight the urge to indulge in any of these, because it\u2019s just not worth it.\u00a0Mind over matter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does your company offer incentives for exercising or eating right? If so, how do you take part? <\/strong>My company just launched a wellness program this year with onsite yoga and different mentoring sessions from how to cope with stress by not overeating, etc. Since I already have a gym I go to, I don\u2019t take part; but I thought it was a really great idea that they started this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you have a family, and if so &#8230; how do you juggle work, fitness and family? <\/strong>Luckily for now, it\u2019s just me; so I learn to balance my day based on what I have to do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greatest accomplishment in fitness\/athletics:<\/strong> I ran my first obstacle race\u00a0this past November called Battlefrog.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weirdest\/funniest\/craziest thing that you&#8217;ve ever experienced while exercising:<\/strong> My\u00a0weirdest\/ funniest\/ craziest thing would have to be about running. Although I hate it, I\u00a0remember not even being able to run two minutes consistently without telling my\u00a0trainer Cedric, \u201c I just can&#8217;t.\u201d Now, I\u2019m sprinting faster than most people. Why or why not?<\/strong> I think it can be. Fitness is definitely a stress-reliever. For example, whether I have had the worst day or not, once I get to the gym and release that stress, it\u2019s like nothing ever happened. I don\u2019t carry it on to the next day, which is extremely essential when dealing with clients and employees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What fit professional inspires you?<\/strong> My trainer, Cedric Ferguson, has been my biggest inspiration thus far in this journey. His energy is like no other. His ability to command a room, but in the most motivational way possible, will make you never want to let him down. Most importantly, he never gives up on you. He lives and breathes this lifestyle and he himself is a success story, also. He believed in me when I didn\u2019t even believe in myself and I think that speaks for itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advice for others trying to become more fit:<\/strong> Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come.
