Winter is December 21 through\u00a0March 19, and with the change in climate comes a change in crops. While eating in-season produce may seem difficult, these types of fruits and veggies are what our body craves. They&#8217;re also the most affordable option at any given moment. Think about how society\u2019s eating habits have changed; just a few hundred years ago, the world population had no other option but to eat in-season. According to an article in Life Style by Poliquin, \u201cthere is an organic synchronicity between the plants that grow in the ground and the animals that eat them\u201d.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Different seasons bring about natural challenges, and the food harvested in specific seasons naturally provides the body with the means to meet those challenges. This seasonal diet could make you more resilient to flu and allergy season without making a trip to your local CVS. Eating in-season food also allows your body to take advantage of the full nutrients the food has to offer. The longer you wait to bite into an apple after it has been picked, the fewer nutrients it has. This winter, change your eating habits and try the fruits and veggies Mother Earth has to offer.
