Beginning in Salt Lake in 2002 and arriving in present day Sochi, Russian figure skater Evgeny Plyuschenko could very well be in the process of capping off an impressive Olympic career in his mother country of Russia. 31-year old Plyuschenko shows no signs of his age, though, as the veteran figure skater has already helped Russia claim a gold medal in the team skate event and now eyes gold in his own individual short program.<\/p>\n

A stunning sixteen years older than Team Russia’s youngest skater, Yulia Lipnitskaya, Plyuschenko is the only male figure skater to ever win medals spanning four Olympics. Having already demonstrated his leadership and skill in the team skate, this hometown hero looks to secure his place in history by adding yet another gold medal to his repertoire.<\/p>\n
