Gracie Gold has a name worthy of an Olympic medal, and\u00a0this week earned her the first of presumably many with a bronze in the figure skating team free skate event. Gold, at only 18 years of age, participates in her first Olympics this year and has already made a splash for which many believed she had the potential to accomplish.<\/p>\n
Not surprisingly for someone as determined as Gracie Gold, she has always been her own biggest critic. Growing up, Gold was hesitant to participate in team sports; she never wanted anyone else to rely on her abilities, as incredible as they were and obviously still are.<\/p>\n
This week in Sochi, though, Gold has set aside her fears and beautifully nailed all 11 of her jumps in what undoubtedly helped the United States to secure a bronze medal in the inaugural team skating event.<\/p>\n
Look forward to seeing Gracie Gold in the near future, though, as this young figure skater is sure to assert dominance this month and for years to come.<\/p>\n
