What to expect in this highly anticipated superhero film? A mean, lean, chiseled-body-machine. Hugh Jackman had his plate full when preparing for his role as Wolverine in this summers upcoming film. Jackman tells <em>Access<\/em>, \u201chard training and a lot of eating\u201d was the key to get his body in to unbelievable shape.\u00a0 Now, some of you may be thinking what I was thinking&#8230; \u201cWow I could totally be the next Wolverine, who doesn\u2019t love to be told to eat a lot!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackman goes on to tell <em>Access<\/em>, \u201cit sounds like fun, but four chicken breasts at ten-thirty in the morning with brown rice and steamed broccoli is not a lot of fun, let me tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Okay, yeah maybe I\u2019ll just stick to my day job.<\/p>\n<p>Jackman tells <em>Men\u2019s Health<\/em>, &#8220;For Wolverine, I ramp it up, I do an hour and a half a day in the gym and eat a thousand calories more a day than I would normally. And I train really hard. I crank up the Godsmack and Metallica. I yell and scream, which helps me get into the character and have a bitch of a workout.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_23134\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/wolverine2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23134\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-23134\" alt=\"facebook.com\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fitzness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/wolverine2-300x300.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-23134\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">facebook.com<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Metallica\u2026Beyonce\u2026whatever works for you!<\/p>\n<p>This superhero looks to change it up every three weeks. Three weeks of heavy weights with longer rests, then on to lighter weight with slower reps and a mixture of quick, explosive lifting.<\/p>\n<p>But his mental approach is what truly separates him from everyone else. Jackman\u2019s mentality is inspirational. His brainpower enables him to overcome any mental uncertainties, such as benching a six-plate barbell. <em>Men\u2019s Health<\/em> dishes the inside story on how Jackman seeks that tipping or breaking point:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When I have 315 pounds above me, there&#8217;s that little breaking point,&#8221; he says. &#8220;You either get really pissed off at that weight, or you ask for help from your spotter. It&#8217;s that exact point&#8211;and every guy reading this article will recognize it&#8211;when Wolverine gets not just pissed off, but insanely pissed off. I try to reach that point every day in my workout. And then push through it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this country, people are all about goal setting. And I concede, to a point, how it can help you get going. But we limit ourselves with goals. We have far more ability than we give ourselves credit for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Feeling amped up? Before you start attempting to flip cars\u00a0 head to the gym and try out a Hugh Jackman circuit:<\/p>\n<p><strong>STATION A: Legs and Shoulders<\/strong><br \/>\n8 to 12 reps of each exercise for one circuit; four circuits total. Before moving on to Station B, spend two minutes on an\u00a0 stationary bike for an active recovery.<\/p>\n<p>1. Barbell Squat<br \/>\n2. Single-Leg Standing Dumbbell Calf Raises<br \/>\n3. Medicine Ball V-Ups<br \/>\n4. Rear Lateral Raise<br \/>\n5. Situp<br \/>\n6. Dumbbell Step-up<br \/>\n<strong>STATION B: Back and Bicep<\/strong><br \/>\nDo 8 to 12 reps of each exercise for one circuit; three circuits total. Before proceeding to Station C, jog on a treadmill for two minutes for an active recovery. Set the incline to 2 percent and maintain a pace of 3 to 4 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p>1. Hanging Leg Raise<br \/>\n2. Dumbbell Jump Squat<br \/>\n3. EZ-Bar Curl<br \/>\n4. Jump Rope<br \/>\n<strong>STATION C: Chest and Triceps<\/strong><br \/>\n8 to 12 reps of each exercise for one circuit; three circuits total. Then punch a heavy bag for two minutes for an active recovery<\/p>\n<p>1. Standing Cable Fly<br \/>\n2. Triceps Press-down<br \/>\n3. Standing Triceps Extensions<br \/>\n4. Dumbbell Chop<br \/>\n5.
