These fancy fitness fanatics who I love\u00a0 so much impressed the hell out of their fitness pro cousin (me) by trudging through the unusually sleet covered Florida roads to accomplish 13.1 miles this Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Carrie, mother of four, apparently didn&#8217;t find\u00a0Saturday&#8217;s half-marathon challenging enough though; she laced up her sneakers again on Sunday to show the full marathon who was boss!\u00a0The Disney Marathon was also full of a few more people that I love. My friends (chosen-family-members), \u00a0Amy and Rob Comesanas,\u00a0romantically ran their first\u00a026.2 mile distance\u00a0together as well. Wow! I&#8217;ve enjoyed stories (good and bad) about their training experiences over the past few months and am truly thrilled that they stuck it out.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Runs\u00a0of these\u00a0lengths are legitimately\u00a0fantastic fitness accomplishments.\u00a0To prove this point, I encourage you\u00a0to think about all the people you know who could even run five miles.\u00a0I bet your group isn&#8217;t huge, right?\u00a0Running a half or full marathon is\u00a0a big deal and everyone who crosses the finish line\u00a0should feel incredibly proud.\u00a0Will you be next?<\/p>\n<p>Training for a\u00a0race\u00a0requires a\u00a0wise plan, dedication, perseverance and\u00a0a\u00a0tremendous spirit. Notice I didn&#8217;t say\u00a0it was required for you to be great shape.\u00a0An elite\u00a0fitness level will come as a result of your graduated training\u00a0program.\u00a0You don&#8217;t have to be thin, you don&#8217;t have to be strong. You just have to be\u00a0willing to choose an appropriate\u00a0training program and stick to it! My family did and they made this weekend magical!
