Liam Hemsworth, the star of The Hunger Games <\/em>and The Expendables 2, <\/em>landed himself on the\u00a0Mens Health <\/em>covers this month, and he comes clean about his teenage years, love of food, the Paleo diet, crazy workouts, fashion, and of course, superstar fianc\u00e9e Miley Cyrus.<\/p>\n He likes to keep his red carpet look simple: <\/strong>I like suits that are fitted. And I usually stick to grays, whites, and blacks.\u0094<\/p>\n Miley also likes how he looks in a suit: <\/strong>\u0093All women think men look good in suits. To be honest, I like the way they look too.\u0094<\/p>\n Working with the cast of\u00a0The Expendables 2: <\/strong>\u0093There wasn’\u0092t the testosterone or ego you might expect on a set like that. Everyone was so cool and professional.\u0094<\/p>\n Liam had a celebrity moment when Jean-Claude Van Damme unexpectedly kicked him in the chest during the filming of The Expendables 2<\/strong>: \u0093It was a present from him, in a weird way. I was honored to be kicked by him.\u0094<\/p>\n He trained like a Navy SEAL and followed the Paleo Diet to prepare for his role in The Hunger Games: <\/strong>My character was spending most of his life in a state of hunger, and I wanted to get a sense of that, physically and mentally.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The training for The Hunger Games <\/em>took a lot out of him: <\/strong>I literally had to wait a half hour after each session before I drove anywhere, I had to lay on the ground until I could breathe properly again.\u0094<\/p>\n Liam had to battle his food vices to prepare his body for The Hunger Games: <\/strong>It was tough because I\u0092’m an eater. If I have one addiction in life, it\u0092s probably food.\u0094<\/p>\n He still has a soft spot for Krispy Kreme: <\/strong>You gotta get, like, 24 and eat all of them. I lose my mind. Go crazy. Krispy Kreme fever!\u0094<\/p>\n Liam’s fianc\u00e9e, Miley Cyrus is the total package: <\/strong>An extremely strong, intelligent, supportive person.\u0094<\/p>\n Liam was the little brother: <\/strong>\u0093I used to wear my brothers\u0092 hand-me-downs, which were all too big on me.\u0094<\/p>\n His hair isn’t as cool as it used to be: <\/strong>I used to have an Afro, \u0097like Will Ferrell in Semi-Pro. It was bleached blond from the sun. I was tall and awkward. I was not cool.\u0094<\/p>\n Liam hasn’t forgotten his roots: <\/strong>\u0093Ninety percent of my best friends back home are plumbers, electricians, builders, or landscapers. Most of our dads worked in trades.\u0094<\/p>\n Liam feeds on the adrenaline from confronting death while surfing: <\/strong>The fear of dying? That’\u0092s part of the fun of it. The adrenaline you get from surfing big waves. I\u0092’ve seen a shark before. You get the worst wipe-outs when you\u0092re not expecting it.\u0094<\/p>\n Boxing has become his sport of choice.<\/strong> \u0093I\u00a0love going to the gym, sweating, running around, feeling like I\u0092’m having a heart attack. I like the physical side of boxing\u0097. It’\u0092s fun to punch a bag for 20 minutes, \u0097but I also feel mentally strong when I\u00a0box, I feel good in my own body.\u0094<\/p>\n
