Today I went farther because I could, and I only stopped cause I had to get to an appointment. Felt great though. Pure and simple, I have empowered myself by taking control of my life at every turn. I incorporated my own business @Fitzness at 20 years old. I have traveled the world. I am raising two incredible children. And I adore serving hundreds of thousands of runners each year as a race announcer. Last year, breast cancer tried to take me down. Instead of letting it, I pursued the most aggressive treatment options possible and refused to give up the career that I earned and that I love while undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. I stood on dozens of stages bald, sick and thrilled to be with my athletes. While I have learned that I am not immortal, I do know that I can do anything I want. That is very empowering!
