I just got my hands on two SPIbelts, one designed for children and one for adults and I think they’re pretty handy. SPIbelt stands for Small Personal Item Belt, but what it really is … is a less cheesy – more functional fitness version of the fanny pack. Remember those? Ah yes! The God-awful man-purse things associated with tacky tourists. Nice to have a hands-free bag, but yeesh! They were unattractive.
But the SPIbelt isn’t like that at all. It’s really thin and almost unrecognizable as something that could hold anything! Having said that, it will hold exactly what you need it to. The latex pouch was stretchy enough to hold my cell phone, mp3 player and a couple of keys. This meant I could take the essentials out on a jog with me to help me feel safe and entertained, without the burden of carrying anything. There’s no doubt that music is one of our most powerful weapons for fighting the battle of the bulge. It provides motivation, momentum, entertainment, distraction and more as a tool to keep us going while exercising. Because of this, I believe it’s vital to have both an mp3 player which works without issue and earbuds which actually stay in your ear!
The personal music player industry has certainly come a long way, but yee-gads! It’s taken the headset folks a long time to chatch up. Finally though, I think they have. Groove by 2XL is an adjustable headphone set which both stays firmly in place and generates bold clear sound. The earbuds themselves are quite large, which may sound bad, but it’s not. They fit quite perfectly in the ear and are held in place by an adjustable hanger which wraps around it. This feature really makes the headset stay put, and I suppose the size of the ear bud enhances the sound. (more…)
