santa-fitz-200

November is here which means the Holidays have arrived! It’s good to be thankful now, but these Do’s and Don’ts will help you make it to January as a grateful girl or guy who enjoyed every last moment of this festive time without one major regret – weight gain!

  1. Do remember that holidays are for family, faith, friends and fun.
  2. Don’t put all of your emphasis on food. There are too many other fun things to do!
  3. Do feel free to enjoy some turkey and one slice of pie on Thanksgiving Day.
  4. Don’t enjoy indulgent leftovers for the rest of the week.
  5. Do crank up your workouts throughout November and December.
  6. Don’t use shopping as an excuse to miss a training session.
  7. Do find ways to add active fun to celebrations.
  8. Don’t forget to play some football and tag, dance or even rent a bounce house when your family comes over. New traditions for fit families are a must!
  9. Do monitor your progress with a scale or tape measure to make sure you maintain your healthy body.
  10. Don’t obsess about it though. Being just a little extra diligent about your eating habits and exercise routine will allow you to start the New Year off with a bang – and without a diet!

  1. Doug says:

During the year, I aim for 90% compliance on my training/nutrition programs.

Knowing that I am NOT going to be perfect gives me peace of mind
Hitting 90% compliance keeps me lean and fit

During the holidays, I let myself slip to around 75%. I usually put on a few lbs., but by mid-January, the weight has been melted off

BTW, I just found your blog – good stuff -
